All those names bring back memories from when I instructed there '65-'72. (Gave some lessons to you, B. Nabors.)
The National Aerobatics held there were a real hoot.
As Greg says - it was a privilege to have rubbed elbows with some of the giants and some of the characters.
It was sad to see the slow deterioration during the years I was flying with American and would pass over on west arrivals to DFW.

This is an interesting neighborhood. Some serious money has or is being poured into the revitalization of this area. It is a mixture of black and Mexican neighborhood. For about ever 15 boarded up homes, there are 5 occupied and 1 new home. There is a specific area that has new streets, sidewalks and improvements.

Too bad the A-12 sunk Douglas. Their design book was pretty ahead of its time when they started spiraling about the toilet of financial insolvency. In the end and with hindsight, I dont think the A-12 could have hacked navy service anyways.

I don't know who THINKS they researched the murders and is telling people tat Stan Farr wasn't murdered (j-witt82), but I would certainly think that some one who CLAIMS to know Dee Davis AND someone who "knows the truth" (TexWatson) would CORRECT that post!
Get this right, because it seem we only want to remember the tragedy of a 12-year-old girl being murdered, or the "tragedy" of the lifestyles that made the murderS so difficult to prosecute, but ALL the victims deserved to be remembered:
Andrea Wilborn AND Stan Farr were BOTH shot and KILLED. Priscilla Davis was wounded. Gus "Bubba" Gavrel, Jr. was wounded and paralyzed. Wouldn't someone who knew Dee Davis well enough to go to her graduation party know that?
Sorry "Tex", but you've tossed-out enough names (Tex Watson, Pat Burleson, Dee Davis) that can be easily plucked from any book on the trials that you've shot your credibility. I'll just bet you know had drinks last night with Racehorse Haynes, too!

Fred Gordon, Al Ordsen, Tommy Johnson, Jim Hill, Kathy Tarkington, Dody McFarlin and of course Pappy. What a time it was in the early '70s. We would work on Pappy's collection during the day and go out and fly them in the evening. Then sit around the hanger with the likes of Charlie Hilliard, Buddy Head, Gene and Tom. All the greats of the day would stop by. Scholl, Frank Price, Herendean, Leo L. I feel very lucky to have been a small part in a great place. Oak Grove

I don't believe it is a correct statement that Logan's Run was filmed here. The majority of filming took place at the Dallas Apparel Mart (Now demolished) which was the location of Arcade and the Great Hall of Carousel. Logan's living unit was located at Park Stemmons. Additional filming took place in the atrium of the Dallas World Trade Center. Imho The interior pictures of Hulen Mall do not remotely resemble anything seen in the movie.
